City to Observe Memorial Day: Garbage, Trash and Recycling Collection Altered

The City of Lake Charles will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, 2019. Lake Charles City Hall will be closed on this day, and there will not be any trash or garbage picked up on Monday, May 27.   

Changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows: 

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, May 28. 

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, May 29.

Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules. 

All other services of the Department of Public Works, including all Recycling Operations (Nelson Ball Field/Alma Ln, Wood Waste Facility, and Roving Green Truck) will be closed on Monday, May 27,  but will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 28. 

As a reminder containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.

The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
