City to Observe Labor Day Holiday - Garbage, trash and recycling collection altered

The City of Lake Charles will observe the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 2, 2019. There will not be any trash or garbage picked up on Monday, September 2, 2019.  

 

Changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows:

 

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

 

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.

 

Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

 

All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City Departments, including Lake Charles City Hall and all Recycling Operations (Nelson Ball Field/Alma Ln, Wood Waste Facility, and Roving Green Truck) will be closed on Monday, September 2, but will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, September 3.

 

As a reminder containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.

 

The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
